Janie Thompson Scholarship
In honor of Janie Thompson, the group’s founding director, a YA scholarship for current students has been created. Janie started this fund herself by selling tapes of her fabulous number, "I've Been Everywhere," and donating the proceeds to the fund.
The goal of the scholarship fund is to be able to provide one full-tuition scholarship (or two half-tuition scholarships) each year for Young Ambassadors. In order to fully fund the scholarship --- that is, pay the tuition just from the interest payment --- we need over $65,000. The fund currently has just over $45,000, so your donations are both needed and greatly appreciated.
In order to make your tax-deductible donation, write a check to the "BYU School of Music", with a memo or letter specifying that it is for the Janie Thompson Scholarship Fund, and mail it to:
BYU School of Music C550 HFAC Brigham Young University Provo, UT 84602
Attn: Brett Thomas
You will be sent a receipt for the donation once the check is processed. For more information, call Brett at (801) 422-6343.
You can now also contribute securely online using your credit card through the Young Ambassador BYU Affinity Chapter web page. On the BYU page, click on "Donate to Jamie Thompson Scholarship" (in Chapter Links, under Dan and Wendee's picture).
