When Jeff got to BYU, he had no idea what a Young Ambassador was. At the invitation of the band director, Dan Truman, who was in despearate need of a bass player, Jeff decided to give it a chance. After the first mid-semester tour, he was hooked and became a fixture in the group until he graduated. Jeff jokingly tells people that his real college major was Young Ambassadors.
Jeff met his wife, Usha, while on a YA tour to the southern states. During the first year of their marriage, Usha became the costume director and accompanied the group to India, where she was born, yet had not visited since her arrival in the USA at the age of 10. She returned as a "celebrity" to her relatives!
The Tuscanos moved to the Washington, DC area in 1986 where Jeff worked for most of those years as an investment advisor. In the winter of 2003, they moved their family to sunny St. George, Utah. Jeff started a business, TUSCAN hOrizons, which helps companies benefit from the assessments of employees for effective job matching.
Music still plays a very important role in the lives of the Tuscanos. Jeff keeps his bass nearby in his office, enjoys playing casually, and each of their children play an instrument or two.
If you ever have a reason or an excuse to drive through southern Utah, you're always welcome at the Tuscano home.
