- Other
After the 1990 YA tour to Scandinavia, I moved to the Washington D.C. area where I worked for a music production company specializing in music for the fitness industry. I returned to Utah in 1993 and began consulting for varous local record labels and artists and doing independent production for theater and concert tours in the U.S. In 1996 I began songwriting with partner Tyler Castleton in Nashville, where we continue to write today.
It's a long road, but we've hit some milestones along the way and have been pleased to have some of our music recorded by Martina McBride, Gladys Knight, Donny Osmond and many of the other incredible artists we've been fortunate enough to work with in this area. Jenny (Jordan) Frogley, also a 1989 YA alum, has lent her voice to more than a dozen of our songs over the years and we don't know what we'd do without her!
Our favorite projects have included several albums for Especially For Youth and an album series for Deseret Book called "Women of Destiny." Another highlight was working with Randy, Janielle and many other YA alums on the "Light of the World" production in the Conference Center during the Olympics. My overseas upbringing and our YA touring years have given me quite a wanderlust, so it's been fun to travel to Israel (twice) and Prague (3 times) for production projects over the years.
Since 2001, I have added mainstream business to my professional focus, including consulting for Axiom Financial (a Utah-based mortgage company) and becoming the Executive Director for the Life Hope Foundation, which focuses on international youth leadership development. I have also served for 7 years on the board of directors of the Faith Centered Music Association with Ron Simpson, which is just like old times!
Aside from music and business, I spend as much time as I can with my family, all of whom are living in the area, and trying to keep up with whatever Church calling I have at the moment. I'm happy to be living here near so many of my "old" YA friends who have become extended family to me.
