After travelling with the singing minstrels of the YA's, I decided to settle into the profession of dentistry. I graduated from BYU in Psychology, and moved to Portland, Oregon where I attended Oregon Health Sciences University from 1996-2000. Upon graduating from OHSU, I just couldn't get enough of school. Fortunately, I was accepted to the Orthodontic specialty program at the same school. Two additional years later (11 years total), I was cured from the schooling bug and decided to move on with my life by entering the "real world."

My wife and I decided to move to sunny Arizona, where we could see our shadow and dry out from Oregon. We have loved our time here. I opened my private practice in October of 2002 (smilestraight.com) and I enjoy each day going to work. Tamara and I have been involved in the Mesa alumni association and have chaired and hosted the BYU International Folk Dance Ensemble performance this last year and will be chairing the Young Ambassadors performance in Chandler this Spring.
